Hearing protection, why?

Hearing protection is needed in areas where the noise level exceeds 85 decibel (dB) and must be accessible where the noise level exceeds 80 dB. At and under 75 dB there are no risks of hearing damages. The risk grows along with rising level. At first quite little, but gradually more and more.

Permitted doze of noise (working day)
85 dB (A) 8 hours
88 dB (A) 4 hours
91 dB (A) 2 hours
94 dB (A) 1 hour
97 dB (A) 30 minutes.
100 dB (A) 15 minutes.
103 dB (A) 7 ½ minutes.
110 dB (A) 1,29 minutes.
124 dB (A) 3,5 seconds.

Of the factors (muffling and carry time) which decide, what muffling effect a hearing protection has, it is the CARRY TIME, that is crucial!
If you fail to use hearing protection in noise where it is required, just 10 - 15 minutes a day, greater damage will happen than expected. This fits losing approximately 90% of the muffling value on the hearing protection. A hearing protection must not muffle the most. It must muffle sufficiently. Muffling to a level of 75 - 80 dB (A) will give the user the possibility of communicating with the surroundings and hearing warning signals. The HML method shows with sufficient accuracy, how much a hearing protection muffles in an actual noise environment. For respectivly High, Medium and low frequency noise.

EN 352-1 = Ear muffs
EN 352-2 = Ear plugs (disposable – several times)
EN 352-3 = Ear muffs for helm mounting
EN 352-4 = Electronic hearing protection (impulse - radio - communication)

Our entire assortment of hearing protection live up to these standards.
